I just got an email from the breeder with a 2 week baby photo of the new little girl and I wanted to share.



Right now I am debating between Adie and Esme. I'm sure my leanings will change again before we actually bring her home ;)

Nothing important. Just... Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having a good day thus far?

I have been pondering names for the new boxer puppy recently. I don't want to actually PICK anything until I get a better feel for her personality... but I wanna have some ideas so she doesn't go nameless for a month like Gracie did.

Right now I am pondering:

Daenerys (Dany for Short)

**Nimue

Phedre

Anything with ** are the ones I am leaning most strongly towards. With dogs it is important to keep it simple enough (or something that can be shortened) for ease of commands when it comes to training.

I seem to be sticking to a literary theme. All but a couple of those names have come from some of my favorite books.

Thoughts?

That I know Im exhausted, but for some reason I can't sleep?

Anyone interested in getting more involved with me? I have only attended like 3 events in the last 5 years. It's sad really :(

I'm pondering going to a couple meetings a month or something to get involved again, but I don't wanna go by myself!

I am pondering creating a new filter for people that are interested in the goings on with the wedding planning stuff. Anyone that has ideas, thoughts, suggestions or is just plain curious.

I got a very heartfelt card from my other half. A very cute one from the girls. And an iPod docking station/alarm clock. I can charge my phone by my bed now! Yay for having my phone in the bedroom in case I get calls in the morning :)

• Iron at least 3 shirts
• Clear at least 2 boxes of stuff in bedroom
• Pick up car from shop

The new kitten has a name! I was headed to bed the other night and randomly said... 'say goodnight gracie'... and it sorta stuck. Out of all the names we have thought about it was the one she would actually respond to (IE I would say Gracie and she would actually look at me and meow).

So Orange kitty has hereby been dubbed: Gracie!

Hello Everyone!

By now you all know about the Choco lab disaster named Serenity. She is happy in a new home in Pinehurst with a family on a farm that has a little girl to play with her and lots of room to run.

I came to the realization that I don't have the time, patience or sanity to deal with a dog or a puppy until the girls are older and I can get a baby baby type puppy at like 8 weeks old and have complete control over their training.

In the meantime - DTA got a siamese/persian mix kitten named Joy.

Last Saturday I aquired an orange tabby Manx cat (female). The problem is - we still havent named her! Nothing I can think of quite fits. I love names that are geeky and or punny.

She is a very happy little girl. She is just a little ball of purr.

Some of the names I am pondering right now are Nimue (Or Nimew) from the Aurthurian legends or Solaris (yes, like the computer software company).

I would LOVE to hear some opinions on names for her. I will get pictures up after I get home from work.

I just sent an email to the rescue to see if anyone will be there tomorrow. She is an escape artist from the crate when we are not home and has done some pretty substantial damage to our bedroom carpet & the blinds & doorframe.

She refuses to play ball or anything to burn energy when we are home so that she is worn out. I can take her on walks, but walks alone are not going to burn sufficient to burn off a lab puppies excess energy.

It sucks, but it needs to be done. I think maybe we are going to get a kitten instead. I will think about another dog someday, but not for a while, methinks.

I picked up the new puppy this morning at 10:30ish. She has been exploring her new home for the last couple hours. I am a bit surprised by how laid back she is being.

We ultimitely decided to name her Serenity. Godvia won the poll, but with those eyes (like fireflies) and a brown coat... it fit too well to say no ;)

Here are some new pictures. Apparently she had been at the rescue for several months and is closer to 7 months than 3. However, I am not complaining. This will make some things easier (like going to work!).

So I FINALLY got an email back from the rescue lady. She had not gotten my email from Sunday and is apparently still out of town. She is going to see if 'Macy' is still available.

My heart is pounding... I just went to the store to pick up puppy supplies. I'm gonna cry if someone else got her this week :(

She is still available! We are now trying to arrange a pick-up time. WOOHOO!

Pick up time is set. 10:30am Tuesday (since that is the start of my weekend). *bounce bounce bounce*

The rescue lady should be back today. I am waiting (not so) patiently for her response.

ARRGH!

Hello Everyone!

So... yeah. What a month it has been. I have been painfully aware of the lack of fuzzy goodness in our house. I started surfing the petfinder.org site and discovered a few really great looking dogs in local rescues.

My first day poking around I found a gorgeous chocolate lab puppy. Four days later I kept going back to look at her picture.

Today we went out to the rescue's annual fall picnic and we got to meet her. She is even more gorgeous in person and I think will be a very good fit once we can work on some basic obedience and leash manners.

At this point all that is left is the formalities. The rescue owner knows that we are planning on taking her and the application has been submitted.

Sooooooooo anyway. That brings us to the fun part. Her name at the rescue is Macy. However, she apparently does not know that name - so giving her a new one that suits our family will not be an issue. I am including a list of names that we have come up with and I want your input. I would love to hear any reasons for / against any of the names on the list. If you want to throw something out that isn't on the list... that's awesome too!

Today is techempage's birthday. Part of me wants to write something long and elaborate to commemorate the occasion.
